FAQ for W3D wheel aligner testing


Question 1. Cannot find one target
Possible Reasons:
1) Target too  dirty
2) Camera front part dirty
3) Target deformation
4) Out of the camera check view
Solutions:
1) Clean the target
2) The camera front part is dirty. Clean the camera with the alcohol
3) No less than 26 light points in the view range


Question 2. Cannot find two targets on the same side
Possible Reasons:
1) Data cable or power cord loose or failure
2) No camera not installed the drive software
3) HUB board burnt
4) The PCB of light not working
Solutions:
1) Check the camera data cable and the power cord
2) Install the drive software for the camera
3) Change the HUB board
4) Check 12V PCB board


Question 3. Cannot find the front two smaller targets
Possible Reasons:
1) The lift is lifted two low and the car is not in the view scope of the camera
2) The post of the lift is close
3) There is oil dust or dirty on the target
Solutions:
1) Make sure the lift is moved up to the correct position
2) Make sure the installation distance for the lift post
3) Clean the target


Question 4. Cannot find four targets
Possible Reasons:
1) Data cable ground failure
2) Camera starting incorrect
3) HUB not working
Solutions:
1) Insert the data cable
2) Turn on the power supply of the camera and then turn on the power supply of the  PC
3) HUB burnt due to instable power supply, change a new HUB


Question 5. Single camera not working
Possible Reasons:
1) Cable connection failure
2) HUB not working
3) No drive software installed
4) USB cannot be identified by the PC
Solutions:
1) Reconnect the data cable
2) Change the HUB board
3) To install the  drive software|
4) Connect the 3m data cable for testing
If the connections fail and no USB device found, then change the camera if necessary


Question 6. Camera drive software installed correctly, but only one camera working
Possible Reasons:
1) Power drop off suddenly
2) The power cord or data cable failure or changed
Solutions:
Step 1) Exit the wheel alignment software, turn off the machine.
Step 2) Restart the machine to enter the "Maintenance"
Step 3) Select the camera position to identify the camera automatically and restart the wheel aligner program for new testing


Question 7. Camera drive software installation problem
Possible Reasons:
1) The problem is due to the USB connector is not same as the required by the machine
Solutions:
1) There are two cameras on the beam, the drive software must be installed twice for each camera, total is 4 times. Click the automatic installation during the operation to install the drive software.


Question 8. Always ask the customer to clean the target during the operation
Possible Reasons:
1) Distance between the camera and the target is less than 2.3m
2) Target defective
Solutions:
1) Input the calibration password in the menu of the camera calibration and select the item of "less than 2.3m" for installation
2) Check the button of View in the menu of Maintenance. Press F5 to check the quanitty of the light points. If the points are less than 28, then change the targets if necessary.


Question 9. Cannot turn the steering wheel while SAI testing
Possible Reasons:
1) Target defective or the postion problem
2) Camera problem due to the data collection
Solutions:
1) Check the targets are blocked by the 4-post lifts inworking site
2) The quantity of the light points on the target unstable
3) The camera is dirty due to bad working conditions. Clean the camera with the alcohol.


Question 10. Distance problem when installing the wheel aligner
Possible Reasons:
1) Too close to see the up and down of the targets
2) The adjustable range of up and down too limited
Solutions:
1) The distance between the camera and  the center point of the turn table is about 2.3 - 2.8 m (the shortest distance is 1.9m)
Suggest: The  best distance is 2.4 - 2.6m


Question 11. Incorrect installation for  the beam and the pillar
Possible Reasons:
1) Data not accurate
2) See the opposite image
Solutions:
1) Pay more attention to the installation angle
2) There should be an angle of depression with the side view


Question 12. Camera sometimes working, sometimes not working
Possible Reasons:
1) Data cable of 3m loose
2) HUB not working
3) Power supply unstable
Solutions:
1) Check the problem with  the data cable of the printer. If the problem is gone, then the problem is due to the data cables, in this case, change a new data cable  if necessary
2) Change the HUB board
3) Change the power supplier


Question 13. Software installation breakdown during 50%
Possible Reasons:
1) Software missing
Solutions:
1) Re-install the software to  the computer
2) Turn off the machine and then  restart to identify the camera
3) The correct sequence is turn on the  camera power supply and then to turn on the PC power supply
4) Check camera cable connections
5) Turn on the machine
6) Check the circuit or the fuses


Question 14. Check the camera connecting cable
Possible Reasons:
1) No drive software in the camera
2) The 3rd camera found
3) The  sequence of switching on the machines is incorrect
4) Camera cables connection failure
5) No power supply
6) Fuse burnt
Solutions:
1) Install the camera drive software
2) Turn off the machine and then restart to identify the camera
3) The correct sequence is to turn on the camera power supply and then to turn on the PC power supply
4) Check camera cable connection
5) Turn on the machine
6) Check the circuit or the fuses


Question 15. No RCP data after reinstallation the software
Possible Reasons:
1) Each wheel aligner has its own corresponding calibration data
Solutions:
1) Move the IAS file to  the boot of the wheel aligner software


Question 16. Ask for registeration password every time
Possible Reasons:
1) The PC installed different software version
Solutions:
1) Reinstall the wheel aligner software


Question 17. No database for Chinese cars
Possible Reasons:
1) Chinese database not installed after reinstallation
Solutions:
1) Install database for Chinese cars


Question 18. The steering wheel is not  in the middle position
Possible Reasons:
1) Clamp installed incorrectly
2) Connection loose between the target and the clamp
3) Camera position changed
4) Change new target
5) There is no claw of the clamp
Solutions:
1) The taller clamp installed on the front wheel and the lower clamp installed on the rear wheel
2) Check the screw of  the clamp
3) Make camera calibration
4) Make target calibration


Question 19. Always display wheel Wobble Message
Possible Reasons:
1) The steering wheel not fixed tightly
2) Wobble happened when moving the car
3) The turntable locking screw is not fixed
Solutions:
1) Check the steering wheel holder
2) Fix the steering wheel  holder tightly on the steering wheel when moving the car
3) Fix the locking screw


Question 20. Without turning the steering wheel requuest after moving the car
Possible Reasons:
1) Wheel aligner testing mode selection wrong
Solutions:
1) Select standard wheel aligner mode


Question 21. Opposite image found in the view scope
Possible Reasons:
1) The camera recognition error
Solutions:
1) Access "Maintenance" for camera position recognition
2) The password is 64499939 to access "Maintenance"


Question 22. Camera installation program
Possible Reasons:
1) The USB port in the workshop is not same as the USB port set before the goods delivery from the factory. Please reinstall the drive program
Solutions:
1) Two cameras are installed on the beam. Each camera will be installed twice for drive program, total will be four times. Select automatica installation for the camera.


Question 23. There are two CD disc with the goods deliver, what is the function of the two CD
Possible Reasons:
1) One CD disc is for software installation. Another CD disc is for IAS data
Solutions:
1) The user needs to install two CD disc to the wheel aligner computer correctly


Question 24. During the calibration, sometimes the larger target is visible, but sometimes the  larger target is not visible
Possible Reasons:
1) The user needs to move the calibration bar slowly and  wait for several seconds so that the  camera could grasp the target correctly
Solutions:
Suggestion 1) The distance from the camera to the smaller target (the front one) should be longer than 2.3m, better 2.4 - 2.5m  
Suggestion 2) The distance from the camera to the larger target (the rear one) should be longer than 2.5m, better 2.6 - 2.7m


Question 25. During the calibration, the computer shows the spot is too bright
Possible Reasons:
1) The distance from the target to the camera is too short
Solutions:
1) The user needs to move the calibration bar a little bit far or behind
2) Suggestion: The calibration bar  is put not straight during the calibration, the reason is that the two target is different, one is smaller and one is larger, in this case, you need put the calibration bar not in the straight line.


Question 26. Cannot find IAS data
Possible Reasons:
1) The IAS is copied in the computer or in one of the CD disc when  goods deliveries
Solutions:
1) The user cannot find it, please  contact the local dealer of ACKA customer service with the serial number for help. The serial number is on the behind of the beam


Question 27. Sometimes I need to install the drive for the wheel aligner
Possible Reasons:
1) The  reason is  that the USB cable behind of the computer has been unplugged or inserted after the software first installation.
Solutions:
1) The user needs to install the software if the USB cable behind of the computer has been unplugged or inserted after the software first installation.
